We have just aquired a Mercedes Actros Tractor unit which features a 500bhp V8 engine.

Having decided to step up to our first tractor unit as a result of increased business we were offered a highly competitive deal by Nigel Gallagher of Commercial Motors in Plymouth.

We were very fortunate that the dealer had a truck in stock which was exactly the specification that we were looking for, with a nice powerfull engine to cope with the hilly roads in Devon and Cornwall.

The New Actros allows us to save money and have more control over our business. It is now running to Cambridgeshire and back, hailing bagged and palletised potatoes in a curtainside trailer, a job on which it will spend 95% of its time.

It's a long journey and our driver will be away at least teo or three nights a week, so we wanted a truck with a roomy, comfortable cab and the Actros is as good as anything we have seen.
